Getaway Shootout

Getaway Shootout looks like a simple footrace to a marked exit but plays like a slapstick gunfight where nobody can walk, only jump, and a rocket launcher can erase your lead in one arc across the screen.

Getaway Shootout’s Jump-Only Movement Across Eight Maps

There’s no walking button in Getaway Shootout. Every bit of movement comes from jumping left or right, which sounds simple until you’re threading a narrow ledge on Launch Pad, one of the longest and most punishing maps in the rotation. New players almost always over-jump early on, landing in exactly the spot an opponent’s shotgun blast is waiting for. The eight maps, including Launch Pad, Moon, Terminal, Street, Tower, Town, and Train, each reshape that jump-based movement differently.

Time Trial strips out weapons and opponents entirely, leaving just the jump physics and all eight maps to practice on. Most people get comfortable with momentum here before taking it into a real match.

Weapons That Turn Getaway Shootout Into a Shootout

Winning a round means reaching the finish first, called a getaway, but getting there means surviving whatever’s been picked up along the way. Weapons spawn at fixed points scattered across each map, so knowing the pickup spots matters as much as knowing the exit.

  • Sniper: two shots, a one-hit kill from any range
  • Rocket Launcher: a single rocket with splash damage that scales the closer it lands
  • Shotgun: three shells, devastating up close
  • Swap Gun: one use, and it disables whatever weapon your opponent is holding

Every player starts at 100 health that’s never shown on screen, so early matches often end with someone confused about dying so fast to a sniper shot they never saw land. Players who fixate purely on reaching the exit tend to ignore pickups, while players who detour for a Rocket Launcher trade travel time for a one-hit swing in their favor.

How many people can play Getaway Shootout at once?

One Player pits you against three bots on Easy, Medium, or Hard, Two Player is local with a friend and lets you add or remove bots, and Time Trial is solo with no weapons.

Do weapons spawn in every mode?

No. Weapons only spawn in One Player and Two Player modes; Time Trial removes them so you’re only racing the map itself.

Getaway Shootout stays chaotic because reaching the exit and surviving the trip are two different problems in this game. Whether you’re memorizing Launch Pad’s ledges or gambling on a Swap Gun pickup, the getaway only counts once you’re standing on the other side.
