Platforms and System Requirements

Before you gather three friends for a session, it’s worth checking that everyone’s setup is ready. The game is light on hardware, but it has two firm requirements that catch people out: every player needs a working internet connection, and two of the three roles need a microphone. This page covers the supported platforms, the full system requirements from the Steam store, controllers, languages and what is known about console versions.

Where You Can Play

Platform Status
Windows (Steam) Available since September 2, 2026
macOS (Steam) Available since September 2, 2026
Steam Deck Verified
PlayStation 5 Announced on the PlayStation Store, release date to be determined

Nintendo Switch Not announced
Mobile and Roblox In development, according to the studio’s official FAQ; no dates

The Steam store lists Windows and macOS. Steam’s own compatibility check rates the game as Verified on Steam Deck: all functionality works with the default controller layout, the game shows Steam Deck controller icons, text is legible on the small screen and the default graphics settings perform well.

The game requires a 64-bit processor and operating system.

The requirements are modest, so the hardware is rarely the problem. The things that actually stop a session are a missing microphone, a microphone that the system hasn’t given the game permission to use, and an unstable connection.

What Every Player Needs

  • Their own device and their own Steam account – there’s no split-screen or local co-op.
  • A broadband internet connection – the game is online co-op only.
  • A working microphone if they’ll play the Deaf or Blind Monkey.
  • Headphones or speakers – the Blind Monkey relies on sound, and some modules are built around it.
  • Two other players – the game needs exactly three.

Microphones and Voice

Voice chat is built into the game and limited by role. According to the official FAQ, two of the three roles need a microphone: the Deaf Monkey and the Blind Monkey both speak. The Mute Monkey doesn’t talk, so that role can be played without a microphone. If one of your friends has no microphone, they can still join – they just need to take the Mute seat every time.

Controllers

Controller support arrived with the full release. The official FAQ lists these as supported:

  • Xbox controllers
  • PlayStation DualSense and DualShock 4 controllers
  • Generic XInput controllers

Update v1.0.2 fixed an issue where the controller interface didn’t appear during controller play, so make sure the game is up to date if button prompts are missing.

Languages

The game supports 15 languages for the interface and subtitles. None of them has full voice audio – the voices that matter in this game are your teammates’.

  • European: English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish (Spain)
  • Americas: Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil)
  • Asian: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean
  • Also: Turkish

The game also has a colorblind mode, which matters more than usual here: several modules depend on colors that one player has to read and describe for the others.

Console Versions

A PlayStation 5 version has a page on the PlayStation Store, marked as announced with the release date still to be determined. The listing mentions DualSense vibration support and PS5 Pro enhancements, and it carries the same three modes as the PC version. The studio’s FAQ talks about bringing the game to consoles in the near future, but no Xbox or Nintendo Switch version has been announced, and cross-play between Steam and PlayStation hasn’t been confirmed.
